Bodybuilding Australia 2016 Arnold Classic - 9 Days Out

9 Days Out

Now only 9 days out of the Arnold Classic Australia, Nathan runs through what's going through his head and how he physically feels, he also goes into detail about his weekly "12 hour cheat meal", do you think you'd be able to ingest 20,000 calories in 12 hours?!

Stay tuned to next week’s video to find out about he's final week as he goes into more detail of his day by day peak week protocol leading into the Arnold Classic.

"So here we are, we are just over a week out of the Arnold Classic Australia, I'm going to go hit some shoulders now and then explain to you guys a little bit about what my thought process is at the moment, how I'm feeling emotionally, mentally, physically. Also going to explain to you guys about my plans, what I'm going to be changing to peak week next week, leading into Arnold Classic Australia. To making that a little bit better than the Melbourne championships, and also I'm going to go into detail about my cheat meal, my epic cheat meal I had last night. Explain to you guys why I ate what I ate and yeah, I'm feeling really good, lactone level is super high today so lets go smash some shoulders.

Just finished a shoulder work out, had a bit of a shoulder issue I've had now over the last couple of years that kind of came back on again, it's come back on in the last few weeks because I've been really tired and lethargic and I find that when I slouch a little bit, my traps come into play it just pulls a little bit of tightness in my rear delt and my right hand side, my infraspinatus and it just starts get a bit achy so when I get that pump it makes the shoulder work a little bit hard. Its okay, in the of season we'll tackle that with my therapist and we'll get that all going fresh again when everything's good to go.

It's crazy we're just over a week away from the Arnold Classic which is awesome. I'm super excited about that, mentally I'm feeling really good about this, also probably because my lactone levels are quite high today because of my crazy cheat meal last night which I do actually do each week. I'll talk to you guys about that soon. I'm feeling really good mentally. I feel like, I feel like in life if you want to achieve something, if you want to go somewhere in life you need to believe you can do it and I really really do believe I can do this so ...

Physically apart from the shoulder niggle, I'm definitely in the best shape ever. I've maintained my fullness a lot longer this time then last time. I'm in a really good position now to try and maintain my fullness coming into the Arnold classic and then I'm not going to deplete as hard coming in. A little bit I've hit my peak week this time that I’m going to change as opposed to last week coming in from the Melbourne championships is I kind of, sometimes you don't really know the difference between fluid retention and body fat. I mean you can get a scan done and you can get your fats measured or the calipers or whatever you want to do, but to me I like to use the mirror and I wanted to push my body as far as I really could for the Melbourne show to see how lean and conditioned I could possibly get. I feel like in the Melbourne show I depleted for a few too many days. Usually I do two or three maybe max three and a half day deplete this time I did a five day deplete which I felt was a little bit too long, so when I went to put those carbs back in on what, the Thursday night Friday and Saturday, I just feel like my body wasn't responding as well to the glycogen as it usually would.

This time what I'm going to do is make sure I don't deplete for as long this time. Probably just going to do the three day deplete and one thing that I missed out on which I'm completely okay with, is that on the day of the show with all my guys that were competing from TFM, I made sure, I made a commitment to those guys, they mean the world to me but I wanted to put those guys first and make sure their preps came first and made sure they were good with their preps and they were good with jumping on stage and everyone was happy. I made sure that everyone came first which kind of mean that my day to myself kind of lacked a little bit and before you knew it I was on stage within five minutes not even getting a tan on, didn't get a chance to pump up or really didn't get much of a chance to put sodium back in as I would've wanted to. I want to say I was a little bit flat and every so often when I hit those poses, my body just seemed to flatten out under those big lights. Also my cortisol was quite high as well coming out of the show. There was a little bit of stress in the last five minutes when you're definitely not ready for it so it kind of hit me all at once so ...

I'm going to make sure for the Arnold Classic I'll get the guys all organised from TFM and then I'm going to make sure those last few days leading the show is all about me which I'm really really excited about. Also with the Arnold Classic Australia the two day shows, so we did the prejudging on Saturday in the hall, I'll be on stage around about 12 or between 12 and 3 o clock depending how the show runs and the Sunday will be the finals if I make the finals, hopefully do fingers crossed. Like I said you've only got to believe you can do it, I believe I can do it. Sunday I'm going to be onstage at about 10am so
Oh yeah and my cheat meal, crazy. Basically every single week, I didn't want to explain to you guys about all my previous cheat meals really because people kind of don't understand why I do what I do, I wanted to kind of make that condition first and prove to the world that I could bring that crazy condition and allow myself to have my cheat meals so ... I do, do that every single week, I uploaded it on Facebook if you guys want to check my Facebook page its Nathan James Williamson, I uploaded on my Facebook page probably half of the food that I ate. It probably equates to like you know 20,000 calories that I consume in a twelve hour period which is crazy, I know it sounds crazy but to me there's a massive process that goes into that. If you guys want to know about the process that goes into that I could give you a quick run down.

Basically what I do is detoxify my body, make sure my liver is working really good, my colon's nice and clean, the day before the cheat meal I do a twelve hour intermediate fast for the first half of the day as well leading into that cheat meal and I consume a lot of calories at once. Now not everyone can do this, not everyone has got a cast iron stomach, I was just born with that so obviously it needs to be adjusted per individual. If you guys want to learn more about what I do, why I do, it's some good fun, it's that rewards system that I think is awesome, I do some crazy hyper dieting during the week, I do a lot of no carbohydrate days, and then I reward myself at the end of the week with a big cheat meal.

Instead of tackling a twenty week body building prep into the Arnold Classic it's crazy the thought of trying to do a twenty week prep, and then that's your end reward, for me, my reward is week to week I get to go out and have some fun and have a cheat meal and that's what keeps me on my diet during the week. Yeah, six and a half days a week my diet is spot on perfect and just twelve hours in between 3pm Sunday afternoon and 3am Monday morning is when I have my cheat meal, cheat day whatever you want to call it, cheat twelve hour session and that's when I just go you know what, me, Jules, Kelly, whoever wants to come along, we just go and have a really fun time, cortisol levels super low, endorphins soaring through the roof, we eat whatever we want, we laugh we have coffee, we do everything so it's really really fun and I think it's really really important. You need to enjoy you're prep and you really need to enjoy what you're doing.

We are just one week out from the Arnold Classic Australia next with you guys I'm going to go into more details about my peak week protocol. I'm just going to give you guys more insight in what I do day to day what I do with the lead up to Arnold Classic Australia.
