Organic Raw Cocoa Overview
Organic cocoa powder is made from organic cacao beans and with its reach full flavour is a healthy alternative to flavouring raw protein shakes or drinking chocolate making it ideal for anyone living an extra healthy lifestyle.
Cocoa powder comes from cacao beans that grow in pods on the cacao tree. Cacao beans are fermented, dried, roasted and then cracked. Then the nibs are ground to extract about 75% of the cocoa butter, leaving a dark brown paste which is called chocolate liquor. After drying again, the mass is ground into powder - unsweetened cocoa. Dutch cocoa is treated with an alkali to neutralize the cocoa's natural acidity.
